Daily Itinerary Guwahati to Dirang

Depart Guwahati early morning, cross into Arunachal Pradesh at Bhalukpong (Inner Line Permit check), and continue through Bomdila to Dirang. Overnight stay to acclimatize before the higher-altitude stretch ahead.

Daily Itinerary Dirang to Tawang via Sela Pass

Cross Sela Pass (~13,700 ft), often snow-covered even outside winter. Stop at Jaswant Garh War Memorial before descending into Tawang town for check-in and rest.

Daily Itinerary Tawang Monastery & Local Sightseeing

Morning visit to Tawang Monastery, India's largest Buddhist monastery. Afternoon at the Craft Centre and local markets to explore Monpa handicrafts and textiles.

Daily Itinerary Bum La Pass & Madhuri Lake

Full-day excursion to Bum La Pass on the India-China border (permit and weather-dependent), combined with a stop at Madhuri Lake.

Daily Itinerary PTSO Lake / Nuranang Falls & Return to Dirang

Morning visit to PTSO Lake or Nuranang (Jang) Falls, then drive back over Sela Pass to Dirang.

Q: Do I need a permit to visit Tawang?

A: Yes. Every Indian citizen from outside Arunachal Pradesh needs an Inner Line Permit (ILP), applied for online in advance. A separate local permit is needed for Bum La Pass, usually arranged once you're in Tawang.
