Majuli, the world’s largest river island, sits in the Brahmaputra and holds centuries of Assamese Vaishnavite culture — monasteries called satras, traditional mask-making, and tribal villages found nowhere else. This 3-day itinerary is built around the island’s unhurried pace.

Daily Schedule

Daily Itinerary jorhat to Majuli

Drive to Jorhat, then Nimati Ghat, and take the ferry (1-1.5 hours) across the Brahmaputra to Kamalabari Ghat. Check in and enjoy an evening sunset by the riverbank.

Daily Itinerary Satras & Mask-Making Villages

Visit Kamalabari Satra, Auniati Satra, and Samaguri Satra, the last known for its traditional mask-making. Afternoon visit to a Mishing tribal village to see stilt houses and weaving.

Daily Itinerary Dakhinpat Satra & Return

Morning visit to Dakhinpat Satra, then ferry back to Nimati Ghat and drive onward to Jorhat for return travel.
