Description

Shillong holds its annual cherry blossom festival in November. During the festival people get indulged in
rock concerts, traditional folk music, dance performance, western music from all the northeastern states.
Throughout the event, a variety of activities are organized such as archery competition, bike rallying,
fashion shows, storytelling and mant more.

Itinerary

1

Day 1: GUWAHATI – UMDEN – BARAPANI

Take an early-morning flight to Guwahati. On arrival, our local host and tour guide greet you and drive you to Barapani . On the way, we will take you to Umden Village, also known as the Silk Village of Meghalaya, where we watch silkworms being farmed, learn how to weave silk, and practice the traditional weaving and color-dying techniques using fruits, tree leaves, turmeric, and other all-natural dyes. Drive continues to your hotel or enjoys some water activities at Barapani Lake. Night stay at hotel at Umiam.

Day 2: HERITAGE WALK FESTIVAL LOCAL

Morning proceed to Shillong for heritage walk with local guide
On this fantastic Walking tour of the ancient town with our amusing and fascinating storytellers, discover
real Shillong. This walking tour will provide you with a superb introduction to the city, its history and its dynamic culture. Later visit the Donbosco Museum to get a glimpse of the North East Indian indigenous peoples”rich and diverse cultures, histories, and traditions. Enjoy your Lunch at one of the famous restaurant in Shillong. Afternoon visit the Polo ground to witness the Cherry blossom festival (The festival features live music as well as pageants, dance competitions, and several stalls representing their region through cuisine, Arts and crafts and wine). Evening participate in the traditional Archery game. Late evening at Ward”s Lake for the festival. Night stay at Umiam.

Day 3: UMIAM MAWPHLANG CHERRAPUNJEE

Start your journey towards cherrapunjee . Drive to visit mawphlang sacred forest,
Our guide will be there to take you around the forest and help you to understand the significance of the forest.
Afternoon drive to Cherrapunjee ( Sohra) ,Visit the Welsh settlement – Welsh missionaries arrived in Meghalaya in the 1840s, and evidence of their presence can be found in the bungalows, schools, churches, and cemeteries built in Cherrapunji. Spend the night at Cherrapunjee

Day 4: DOUBLE DECKER TREK

Morning after breakfast drive to tyrna village, our guide will receive you and start your trek to the double decker living root bridge. The first part of your trek will be through the concrete staircases to reach the first bridge which is single decker. Pass through the panoramic view of the surrounding s and witness some crystal clear blue water before reaching double decker living Root Bridge. Spend Some quality time out
there before trek back to cherrrapunjee. Spend the night at Cherrapunjee

Day 5: CHERRAPUNJEE MAWKMA MAWLYNNONG

Check out from the hotel and drive to Mawkma Village , Meet the local guide and explore different water bodies , walk around the village to get the real flavour of the state. You can take a dip in the crystall clear natural pool. Later drive to Ka bri war resort (near mawlynnong village) overlooking the beautiful valley.
Spend the night there.
