Meghalaya, the land of floating clouds is an incredibly beautiful tourist destination in India. Meghalaya Tourism takes you to one of the Seven Sister States of Northeast India where natural beauty is found in plenty. The two colours which beautifully describe Meghalaya are white and green. Its lush green landscapes, picturesque surroundings and white clouds and mist playing an enchanting drama never fail to capture the hearts of tourists.

Itinerary

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1:  GUWAHATI – UMDEN – BARAPANI

Take an early-morning flight to Guwahati. On arrival, our represtative will meet you and drive you to Barapani . On the way, we will take you to Umden Village, also known as the Silk Village of Meghalaya, where we watch silkworms being farmed, learn how to weave silk, and practice the traditional weaving and color-dying techniques using fruits, tree leaves, turmeric, and other all-natural dyes. Drive continues to your hotel or enjoys some water activities at Barapani Lake. Night stay at hotel at Umiam.

Day 2: UMIAM – MAWPHLANG – KONGTHONG VILLAGE

Start your journey towards Kong thong Village. On the way visit mawphlang sacred forest,

Our guide will be there to take you around the forest and help you to understand the significance of the forest. After visiting the Mawphalang Sacred grove you will be drive to Kong thong, located in East Khasi Hills.

Kongthong is an interesting place. Known as the whistling village of Meghalaya, in this village, every person has a tune associated with them along with their names. Kongthong where you will spend the night

 

Day 3: KONGTHONG VILLAGE-CHERRAPUNJEE

Post breakfast explore the village, interact with the locals and listen to ‘jingrwai lawbei’ or the tune. After that drive to cherrapunjee (Sohra), Visit the Welsh settlement – Welsh missionaries arrived in Meghalaya in the 1840s, and evidence of their presence can be found in the bungalows, schools, churches, and cemeteries built in Cherrapunji. Spend the night at Cherrapunjee

 

Day 4: FULL DAY AT CHERRAPUNJI

Spend the day in Cherrapunjee and explore the some waterfalls and the mysterious caves. At night, enjoy stargazing in the clear skies of Cherrapunjee. Cherrapunji where you will spend the night

Day 5: CHERRAPUNJEE- MAWRYNKHANG BAMBO TRAIL- LANGKAWET  VILLAGE.

 

Today After an early breakfast, drives towards Wahkhen village. From Wahkhen starts the Bamboo Trail or the Mawrybgkhang Trek. After the Mawryngkhang trek, drive towards Langkawet.  Langkawet where you will spend the night

 

(The trek starts with a bamboo trail along the broom stick farms leading to a rough stony path till we reach the cleanest river in the region ‘Umrew River’. The trail leads to some scary bamboo bridges on the ridges of the rock for most of the trek, the only support to the bridge being the steep, smooth edge of the rock alongside which the bridge runs.  The course of this scary Bamboo trek is amidst forests, astounding waterfalls, Rocky caves, stony stair routes, and breathtaking view of the valley.

Day 6: LANGKAWET VILLAGE – KRANGSHURI WATER FALLS-PHE PHE WATER FALLS- JOWAI

Post breakfast visit a small waterfalls neat the village. After that drive towards Jowai where enroute you will be visit Krangshuri waterfalls and Phe Phe Waterfalls. Jowai Where you will spend the night

Langkawet is an idyllic destination where you can simply relax and spend your time amidst the nature.

Krangshuri Waterfalls Located in the Jaintia hills, Krang Suri is blessed with shimmering blue waters and sparkling sunlight. This heady mixture of nature is sometimes known to create a rainbow. It’s truly a magical pool in nature’s wonderland.

Day 7: JOWAI- GUWAHATI AIRPORT

Post breakfast drive to Guwahati airport for onward destination. If time permit visit Maa Kamakhya Temple at Guwahati

 

Please note that above mention places most of the place you will have basic accommodation where basic facilities like attach bathroom, toi let, basic food, neat and clean room and etc available
