DAY 01 - Arrive Guwahati pre - noon By Flight and then drive to Tezpur (By Surface 180Kms / 5 Hours)

After breakfast drive to the airport to board flight to Guwahati. Meeting and assistance on arrival at the Guwahati airport. Drive directly to Tezpur. Meeting and assistance on arrival at the Wild Mahseer Lodge situated inside the Adabari Tea estate. Check in at the lodge followed by dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 02 - Tezpur

The Wild Mahseer Lodge is located on the north bank of the Brahmaputra River. The Adabari Tea Estate, which originally belonged to the British Assam Tea Company, goes back to the year 1900. Till 1962, the manager operated from the single-storied Burma teak bungalow here.Subsequently, the office was shifted, and the sprawling bungalow was left unoccupied. The property has been renamed Wild Mahseer (after a popular fish found in the Brahmaputra and Jiabharali river nearby), and the bungalow has been re-christened The British Assam Heritage Bungalow. Spend a leisurely day at the Tea Estate enjoying the warm hospitality and the scenic beauty. Enjoy various blends of tea from the Adabari Tea Estate in a tea tasting session. Dinner and overnight at the Lodge.

Day 03 Tezpur – Jorhat (By Road 163Kms / 4 ½ Hours)

After breakfast drive to Jorhat. Meeting and assistance on arrival and transfer to the Burra Sahib’s Bungalow or the Thengal Manor. Jorhat, the gateway to north-east Assam is the heartland of tea. Besides its many tea estates, it has the famous Teklai Experimental Centre that conducts research on new varieties of tea and its therapeutic effects. Starting with the British colonial exterior, soak in the sprawling interiors of carpeted, wooden floors, four to five bedrooms, high ceilings, verandahs with sloping roofs and a panoramic view of acres of flower-bedecked garden. Take a peek into the life of the tea estate manager as he begins his day at 6 am. Walk with him as he makes his rounds of the garden. Overnight at the bungalow.

Day 04 – AT Jorhat

To live in a tea estate! Amidst early morning mist, trilling songbirds and rolling, Verdant hills... Yes, it is indeed a world apart, if you happen to be staying in a 'burra bungalow where the tea estate manager lives. Known for their quaint, colonial architecture, these bungalows are associated with a unique and graceful lifestyle of an age gone by. Have a leisurely breakfast. Spend the morning relaxing amidst the tea estate taking an occasional stroll and tasting the exquisite varieties of tea.Visit the tea factory later in the day and witness first hand the various processes carried out there followed by a tea tasting session. Dinner and overnight at the bungalow.

Day 05 Jorhat – Dibrugarh(By Road - 136Kms / 3 Hours)

After breakfast drive to Dibrugarh. On arrival check – in at the Mancotta Chang Bungalow located at the Mancotta Tea Estate. The bungalow still retains its old world charm because of its large rooms with wooden flooring and old colonial furniture.Watch a traditional dance performance by the local tea tribes in the evening sipping the garden fresh tea. Overnight at the Bungalow.

Day 06 Dibrugarh – Kolkata/ Delhi

After breakfast visit the tea garden with an expert tea taster who will later demonstrate how freshly made tea is carefully measured out and brewed in special cups made for sampling. Participate in the tea tasting session to judge the samples for appearance, aroma, taste and strength. Afternoon transfer to the airport to board flight to Kolkata/ Delhi.

Tea Tour Assam

Day1 – Pickup from Bagdogra and drive to GIng Tea House near Darjeeling.

Located about half an hour’s drive from Darjeeling. The house was built back in 1866 and legend has it that it was amongst the first bungalows built by the colonial tea planters. Evening free. Overnight at Ging Tea House.

Day2: Darjeeling Sightseeing

Early morning start your day with the visit of Tiger Hill view point, Situated at an altitude of 2590 metres (8482 ft.) and 13 km from the town, this spot has earned international fame for the magnificent view of the sunrise over "Kanchenjunga" and the great Eastern Himalayan Mountains. Even Mount Everest, the world's highest peak, is also visible from here.

Post breakfast visit –

Himalayan Mountaineering Institute - The Himalayan Mountaineering Institute was set up following the successful ascent of the Mount Everest-the highest peak in the world by the local hero Tenzing Norgay Sherpa and Sir Edumund Hillary on 28 May 1953. The institute is presently under the purview of the Ministry of Defence, Government of India and its museum is worth a visit. Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park : Adjacent to the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, it is a high altitude wildlife park and new home for Siberian Tiger, Himalayan Black Bear, Deer, Red Panda, Snow Leopard and Birds. Tibetan Refugee Self Help Centre: This centre produces excellent carpets, woollen goods, wood work, leather work etc. The Tibetan craftsmen can be seen at work at the centre. It is closed on Sundays. Chowrasta & Mall : Chowrasta, a wide promenade atop a ridge lined with shops and restaurants is taken to be the heart of the town. Here people gather to chat, spend time basking in the sun or just to snatch a moment of peace. From Chowrasta take a charming stroll at the Darjeeling Mall. Chowrasta is the central place of the Mall Road. Also visit Peace pagora and Japanese temple. Evening free. Overnight at Ging Tea House.

Day3 – Transfer to Chamong –

Post breakfast checkout and drive to Chamong, Tea estate near Mirik Lakre. We check in a nice tea resort inside a tea plantation. This is a recreated Planters Bungalow overlooking a beautiful valley with rolling tea bushes.

You have ample opportunity to walk around the garden and enjoy the scenic beauty as you sip the finest Darjeeling orthodox tea from your balcony.

Day4 – Chamong full day Tea garden tour.

Today we take you to a guided Tea Garden tour with the manager who will explain you about the tea history of Darjeeling and the different tea quality. If the factory is open you will be taken to the factory to see the process of the tea making. A special tea testing session will also be arranged for you. You will also meet the tea garden workers in the field and will have the opportunity to talk to them.

The tea garden has an ample scope of bird watching. With a binocular and our accompanied guide and a book you can set out for a short bird watching tour around the garden. We will arrange a picnic lunch by a mountain stream. After lunch you will be driven back to the resort.

In the evening if you are interested we can arrange a small bon fire and a local cultural performance by the garden workers.

Day 5 – Morning visit Mirik Lake -

It's a wonderful scenic drive through tea gardens laid on the hill slopes. You will pass by the famous Thurbo tea estate of Goodricke. On the way you will also see a lot of orange orchards. Sit along the bank of the lake and relax. You can also do boating in the lake (mostly paddle boats). Or take the arching footbridge, crossover to the other side (western bank) of the lake, take the walkway through the dhupi forest and enjoy the nature Back to the resort in the evening.

Day 6 – Final departure. Check out and drive back to Bagdogra with sweet memories.
